The 49ers are still waiting on MRI results, but there’s a chance they’ll have running back Tevin Coleman back for the Super Bowl.
Speaking at his Monday afternoon press conference, 49ers coach Kyle Shanahan said Coleman dislocated his right shoulder during Sunday’s NFC Championship Game against Green Bay in the second quarter.
“This is more like the ‘Lethal Weapon’ type thing where we’ve got to pop it back in,” Shanahan said of Coleman’s injury, expressing hope that the MRI won’t reveal further damage in the shoulder. “We’ve gotta wait until we get the (MRI) back so I don’t want to speculate too much, but (it takes) usually a week to rest it. … We’ll find out more, but I expect him to have a good chance to play.”
