Philip Daniels ha pubblicamente criticato Haynesworth, sottolineando che è l'unico giocatore a non aver rispettato la richiesta di Mike Shanahan, ovvero di presenziare tutti agli allenamenti non obbligatori per i veterani, per i quali l'affluenza è stata molto positiva (mancava solo lui, è venuto persino McIntosh nonostante i problemi contrattuali). Questo qua mi scade ogni giorno di più, lui ed i suoi ca..o di 21 milioni di bonus...
Albert Haynesworth's decision to stay away from the Washington Redskins' voluntary offseason activities doesn't sit well with all his teammates.
Redskins defensive end Phillip Daniels, in particular, has some harsh words for Haynesworth, saying in no uncertain terms that he wants his linemate to get with the Redskins' program.
"It says this is voluntary, but for us, what we went through last season after a 4-12 season, it's mandatory," Daniels said. "He should definitely be here. And it's a shame he's not."
That quote comes from a column by Mike Wise in the Washington Post, a column in which Wise rips Haynesworth and writes, "Albert, the people you play with think you're a bad teammate."
Wise doesn't actually quote any Redskins saying they think he's a bad teammate, but he does quote Daniels saying Haynesworth should join the rest of the team, begin to learn the end position in the Redskins' new 3-4 defense, and be the kind of player the Redskins thought they were getting for their $100 million contract.
"From what I'm told, he can play the end spot," Daniels said. "I've called him and told him that. The thing is, we have 100 percent participation if he is here. It's now 99. He's got to be here."
But the truth is, Haynesworth doesn't have to be there. The Redskins have already paid him a large chunk of that $100 million contract, and if Haynesworth is content to sit at home and count his money while his teammates are sweating at Redskins Park, there's not a thing anyone can do about it.
