Quest'anno mi sa che non vado con le preview estive team by team è un lavoro troppo grosso, faremo qualcosa di più leggero. Questi erano pezzi più in base al momento o alle cose più interessanti della offseason (mercato qb, i browns, gli FA che non si caga nessuno, la strategia dei rams, ecc ecc).

peccato. potreste fare le preview divisionali.

E nel draft 2010 Belichick cambiò anche la 89esima. La mandò a Carolina (il GM era Marty Hurney) che prese Armanti Edwards. I Panthers in cambio mandarono a Foxboro il loro secondo giro del 2011 (33esima) che i Patriots sprecarono per Ras-I Dowling. Anche Belichick sbaglia! Ma rimane la sostanza di aver trasformato una scelta in tre, di cui due molto più alte (tutto era partito da scambi del 2009).

Secondo calcoli che ritengo accurati i Patriots hanno completato 48 scambi di sole scelte durante la gestione di Belichick a New England. Sommando il valore aggiunto acquistato da Belichick si ottengono 80,6 punti che equivalgono ad una prima scelta assoluta, una seconda scelta assoluta e pure la diciannovesima scelta oppure, in altri termini, è come avere ogni anno, per quindici stagioni, la 99esima scelta al draft gratuitamente.

(E lo scambio Cooks IN, Cooks OUT ha portato in value, la 104esima)

Allo stesso modo le 25 scelte di compensazione recuperate da Belichick per aver perso numerosi free agent hanno accumulato un valore di 32,6 punti. Ovverosia qualcosa compreso tra la prima e la seconda scelta assoluta. Tutto ciò in realtà viene distribuito negli anni.

Sono parole dell’ex GM dei Carolina Panthers, quello che ha dato a Belichick la 33 per la 89! Però lui accusa Belichick, ma non può provare nulla. E per questo è molto adirato. Non però per aver regalato 56 posizioni al draft. Alle volte l’importante è davvero aprire la bocca. O scrivere un tweet. La verità è secondaria.

Diciamo che non hanno pareggiato, quindi vuol dire che avranno le loro ragioni, oltre avere le cartelle cliniche.
