Phoenix rookie Mikkel Boedker doesn't have any Panthers ties, but he does know coach Pete DeBoer. Boedker, who scored twice in Phoenix's 4-1 victory Saturday, was a first-round pick after scoring 29 goals for DeBoer's Kitchener Rangers of the Ontario Hockey League.
''I'm not surprised,'' DeBoer said of the 18-year-old's play. ``He smiled at me before the game, and I knew that wasn't a good sign.''
