Is the quality starting goalie the junkie who just had a second surgery, is out indefinitely and is under contract for the worst team in the league?

hey hockey insider, could you tell us of what second surgery you're talking about?

True, my bad, I misread. He "only" has to restart rehab again.

I am sure the "quality starting goalie" will be ready for the 2023 season.

and which are the reasons why the trade is considered too one sided?

hint: NY being involved in the trade shouldn't be one

we are giving back a quality starting G that should be back in about 1 month, two regular RWs that are needed by the other team, and we are taking back a bad contract no one else in the league wanted any part of.

In the Rust deal that you didn't even bother to protest there was none of these assets going back and the RW acquired by Honolulu was a top 20 RW in terms of production and making 1.5M vs Pastrnak's 9M.

Rust is currently averaging 9.2 ftps/game at 1.5M, Pastrnak is averaging 7.2 fpts/game at 9M.

Honolulu received Rust at 1.5M for free, and was able to dump a 0.5M in the process. The seller did not advertise the need to cut cap nor the intention to sell Rust to do so, if they did they would have found a better buyer in 10 minutes.
We are instead paying two RWs, Carey Price, and taking on a bad fat contract for Pastrnak at 9M. Dom did announce he wanted to get rid of Monahan and found no one else willing to take on that contract.

How in this world can you veto this trade after the Rust trade was allowed to go through?

Thanks

Attention
The following trades involve invalid picks (2026) and are under review. The commission will decide of/what to do.

20/02/2024
Acadie with Quebec
Detroit with Minnesota

11/01/2024
Halifax with Phila

First update
The commission wants to keep the rule as it is but since the site allowed the choice of the 2026 picks and at least one trade was at least 1 month in the past the trade will not be deleted.

However there will be some changes to the trade with the aim of removing 2026 picks involved where possibile or "rebalancing" the situation.

1. Where possibile, picks will be changed with a same round pick from previous years.

So
Detroit with Minnesota
  • Pick 2026 round 3 from Minnesota  -> Pick 2025 round 3 from Minnesota
Acadie with Quebec
  • Pick 2026 round 1 from Acadie -> TO BE DEFINED
  • Pick 2026 round 2 from Acadie -> Pick 2025 round 2 from Acadie
Halifax with Phila
  • Pick 2026 round 1 from Halifax -> TO BE DEFINED
  • Pick 2026 round 3 from Halifax -> Pick 2025 round 3 from Halifax
Updates will follow...
