Already picked, I'm assuming the player I was looking at would be UFA and not draft eligible since he was taken in 2012 just couldn't find eligibility rules.

Less than 10 (or 11? Not sure...) games in NHL = draft eligible.

How old does a player have to be in order to bid on them in free agency then? Can we bid on players not taken from the 2014 draft?

Age doesn't matter. If played 11 NHL games you can bid as UFA. If not you can draft him.

So just to use Shipachyov again since I already mentioned him. He goes undrafted and then signs an NHL contract next week, he can not be signed in UFA and will be in next years draft or he can be but not until during the season after the 11 game mark.

That's right.
Not available in our free agency.
If he plays 11 game -> you can bid as FA during RS.
If not he will be available (again) at our draft.

You can't draft Mario Lemieux. Only bid on him during free agency or RS.

Sorry, just was a good example since he is old and doesn't have a contract. If someone was planning on using a pick on him I apologize.
