NBA Records: Single Game Scoring Record
1- Nel primo mese di vita della lega (BAA), Novembre 1946, il ''titolo'' passa di mano in  mano velocemente..primo titolare è Ed Sadowski 18 points per i Toronto Huskies il primo di Novembre in occasione della prima notte  della prima stagione della lega, 1946-47. Dopo 24 ore il totolo passa a Max Zaslofsky (28), Sadowski (30), Mel Riebe (31) ed a Leo Mogus (33).
Joe Fulks da Philadelphia mette pone l'asticella a 37 contro Providence il 3 Dicembre, record che alzerà altre due volte. Il 30 Gennaio del 1948 George Mikan fa il suo debutto in classifica con 48 punti, record superato poco dopo da Carl Braun a 50 punti, primo nella storia.
"Jumpin' Joe'' il 10 Febbraio del 1949, distrugge il precedente record arrivando a 63 points.
Record che è destinato a durare per ben 10 anni fino ai 64 punti di Elgin Baylor dei Minneapolis Lakers a  November del 1959, per diventare 71 l'anno successivo, 11/15/1960, sempre per i Lakers, ma sponda LA contro i New York Knicks.
2- Nel 1961 in una gara tra Philadelphia Warriors e Los Angele Lakers finita 147-151 con tre O.T. Baylor ne mette 63, ma Chamberlain distrugge il precedente record depositando 78 punti!
3- 3 settimane dopo i due si scontrarono nuovamente, Baylor segnò 52 punti mentre Wilt ne mise 60
4- Â Wilt Chamberlain ha segnato in carriera almeno 50 punti per ben 118 volte, MJ segue con..''solo'' 31, KB con 24, Baylor con 17 e Barry con 14 (non contate le stagioni ABA)

7- Wilt Chamberlain detiene inoltre il record per il maggior numero di partite consecutive con almeno 50 punti: 7 partite consecutive.
8- Il 12 Novembre del 1959 Wilt Chamberlain raggiunge per la prima volta quota 50, 55 per precisione, nella stessa stagione (rookie) Wilt ha anche 2 partite da 58 punti. Da rookie Barry ha una partita da 57 punti e Monroe da 56.
9- Abdul-Jabbar come Rookie segna 51 points per Milwaukee in February 1970 contro Atlanta nella sua prima gara dei PO (record) Arrivando almeno a quota 50 altre 9 volte nei suoi 4 anni ai Bucks, ma nessuna volta nelle 14 stagioni ai Lakers.
