Just two weeks before the start of training camp, the Bruins are not any closer on a new deal for restricted free agent David Pastrnak, according to team president Cam Neely.

It’s believed that the Bruins entered the Pastrnak negotiations with a six-year, $36 million contract offer, which Pastrnak’s camp shot down, and that they have since bumped that offer up to seven years and $42 million. Both deals would come with a $6 million per season cap hit, which appears to be a focus of the Black and Gold.

Just minutes away from the official start of training camp, the Bruins and restricted free agent David Pastrnak have avoided a holdout and come to terms on a new six-year, $40 million contract, according to TSN’s Darren Dreger.

The deal, which will make Pastrnak the third-highest paid Bruins forward behind David Krejci and Patrice Bergeron on yearly cap hit, coming with a $6.66 million average annual value that will keep Pastrnak in town through the 2022-23 season.

The 21-year-old Pastrnak set career-highs in goals (34), assists (36), and points (70) last season.

The Bruins were dealt their first loss of the preseason Thursday morning, as the team confirmed that they will be without defenseman Torey Krug for at least three weeks.

Knocked out of the game when he was smacked in the jaw with a puck in the second period of Tuesday’s 4-2 win over the Red Wings, Krug is currently suffering from a non-displaced fracture, and will be re-evaluated at the end of that three-week absence.

It’s a definite blow to a B’s defense corps that’s short on left-shot defenders, with Zdeno Chara now skating as their only left shot with significant NHL experience, and even worse when you consider what Krug meant to the Black and Gold a season ago, with a career-best 43 assists and 51 points (25 of which came on the power play) in 81 games.

With Krug expected to be out of action for at least a week of the regular season, the NHL Opening Night odds have increased for local puckmover and former B.U. Terriers d-man Matt Grzelcyk, who skated in two NHL games a season ago, with zero points and four shots on goal.

Hanno inserito qualche giovane in ogni reparto e il futuro sembra quanto meno dire che c'è un certo ricambio.
Da vedere se Bjork (figlio d arte :-D ) e DeBrusk confermeranno le attese in top 6.
Bottom 6 c'è tanta gente che girerà tra ahl e nhl.
In difesa con il solito Chara ci sono Carlo e McAvoy che hanno già fatto vedere di essere buoni.

Se trovano amalgama se la giocano per i playoff anche perché la division è equilibrata ma abbastanza scarsa e per me sarà lotta aperta con 5 squadre x 3 posti e forse una wildcard
