Offensive tackle Tony Garcia's career with the Patriots is over.
According to ESPN's Field Yates, the Patriots have released the 2017 third-round pick with a non-football injury designation. He missed all of last year with reported blood clots in his lungs and apparently lost close to 30 pounds. New England traded up in the round to select him No. 85 overall.
The Troy product appeared like he would be in the mix for a spot on the offensive line this summer, but obviously that will not be the case.
This leaves Trent Brown and first-round pick Isaiah Wynn as the top candidates to replace Nate Solder at left tackle.
