Re: Statistiche curiose e milestone
5: RBIs for Matt Wieters, in the Orioles' 10-4 win against the Chicago White Sox. It's just the third five-RBI game by an Orioles catcher in the past decade.
80: Number of fastballs thrown by Justin Verlander against the Royals on Monday, out of his 131 pitches.
100.3: Speed in mph of Justin Verlander's final pitch, a called strike three to Alex Gordon in the Tigers' 3-2 win against the Royals.
689: Days between home runs for Kendrys Morales, who hit his first home run since May 29, 2010, in the Angels' 6-0 win against the Athletics.

Albert Pujols has yet to homer in 45 at-bats this season, by far the longest drought to start a season of his career.

True fact: The Giants are 0-5 when Brandon Belt starts and 5-1 when he's on the bench.

Ancora Moyer:
Not counting pitchers … Jamie Moyer has faced or been teammates with every single MVP in either league since 1980. Every … single … one … in … either … league.

Meccanodonte ha scritto: Colon ha lanciato 38 strike di fila contro gli Angels (82 su 108 totali alla fine).
That's the longest string of strikes in the majors in at least the past 24 years, dating to 1988. The previous best in that stretch was 30 in a row by Tim Wakefield in 1998.
GREINKE UNDEFEATED AT HOME FOR BREWERS
From Elias: Zack Greinke pitched seven scoreless innings to earn a 6-0 win for the Brewers over the Cardinals. Greinke improved to 12-0 lifetime in home games for Milwaukee. Only one other pitcher in the last 45 years has won his first 12+ home decisions for a team, all as a starter. Kenny Rogers won his first 15 decisions in Oakland for the Athletics from 1998 to 1999.

Jamie Moyer facts
Jeremy Lundblad sent the following out about Moyer:
At 49 years, 151 days old, Jamie Moyer became the oldest pitcher in MLB history to win a game. Jack Quinn previously held the mark at 49 years, 70 days old on September 13, 1932.
• Moyer was the 5th oldest member of the 1996 Red Sox, and he's the only one still active.
• Moyer is 49.42 years old today. Mark Melancon has a 49.50 ERA today.
• The last position player born in 1962 to play a game? Randy Velarde in 2002.
• Moyer had 19 career wins when Tuesday's opposing starter, Anthony Bass, was born.
• Via Elias: Moyer has pitched to eight percent of all hitters in major league history.
• Moyer was born the same year as Billy Beane, who last played in the majors in 1989.
• Moyer was born in the same year as Mike Golic, Jon Bon Jovi, Paula Abdul, MC Hammer, Refrigerator Perry.
• In his MLB debut, Moyer opposed Steve Carlton, who is now 67.
• Robin Roberts (born in 1926) once faced Don Sutton who once faced Jamie Moyer.
• Moyer overlapped with Phil Niekro for 2 seasons. Niekro is now 73.
• Moyer has faced 11 current MLB managers.
What follows was compiled by Jeff Bennett:
Jamie Moyer is so old. "How old is he?"
He is so old, that he can be linked to the Dead Ball Era in just four players. (Note, there are many ways to do this using baseball-reference.com, I choose this path to focus on Hall of Famers.)
Moyer made his major league debut on June 16, 1986 against the Phillies. The opposing pitcher that day was Hall of Famer Steve Carlton.
In Carlton's rookie season of 1965, he once pitched in the same game (9/27/65) as Hall of Famer Warren Spahn, who was then with the San Francisco Giants.
Spahn made his debut on 4/19/42 as a member of the Boston Braves against the New York Giants. The No. 3 hitter for the opposing Giants was Hall of Famer Mel Ott.
Ott made his MLB debut for the Giants on 4/27/26 against the Phillies. One of his teammates in that game was Hall of Fame second basemen Frankie Frisch.
Frisch made his MLB debut for the Giants on 6/17/19 against the Cubs, the franchise in which Moyer debuted 67 years later.
Some more, from Doug Kern:
• When the Rockies franchise was created, Moyer had already appeared in 141 games and pitched exactly 700 innings. In their history, the Rockies have still only had six pitchers reach the 700-inning mark.
• The first possible Hall of Fame ballot on which Moyer could appear would be in 2018 -- at age 55. (In some sports he would already be earning a pension; MLB's plan begins at 62.) And the last would be in 2032, when he would be 69. (And that's assuming he doesn't pitch in 2013 also!)

Re: Statistiche curiose e milestone
I Cincinnati Reds arrivano a quota 10000 vittorie in MLB.
