LOL
not in this weird upside-down league that we have.
GMs either
a) refuse to trade
b) sell at the deadline, and then publicly say they are competing for the playoffs
c) refuse to compromise on offers and repeatedly try and straight up rip you off

There's an owner who is offering Aaron Ekblad left and right, did he do that with you too?
Anyway, I recently had a very smooth and mutually beneficial trade with all3n: he made a very well thought out proposal, we tweaked it and we proceeded. Then there are always owners who try to get a stud for a shit sandwich but I guess it is part of the game and every owner has its own style. Also, it is still early and owners are perhaps still figuring out what they have and what went right and wrong in free agency.

and there are also GMs who collect 8000 draft picks in the hopes of developing a single NHL calibre player, but lets not mention any names here
the problem with your response is, you say that you were presented with an offer, and instead of seeing the offer as trade dialogue and making a counter offer or maybe contacting the person who made the trade offer, you go parading around posting it on a forum.
then you say you did the opposite with another owner (who has had their own shady dealings)

Well, fair point. On another thread you were complaining about the lack of trash talking so I thought I would throw a little joke there, after all it seemed harmless compared to other stuff I happened to read in past threads but I guess it is all about personal taste.
I agree with you though, sometimes what someone sees as a proposal to open dialogue is perceived by the other part as a non starter because he is not planning to sell the requested asset, so perhaps we should all make a better effort in communicating to avoid misunderstandings.

you'll see more trash talking during the playoffs
the GM you replaced was basically the fire-starter when it came to trash talk
he was actually the one who brought me into this league.
so there are some shoes to fill.
